Giordano Bruno da Nola, in Frankfurt in 1591, in De Minimo reveals the vicissitudinal cycle: matter, substance, is in continuous motion, in continuous mutation, nor is it possible to reproduce the same figure twice, since everything, at every moment, is in perpetual transformation.
«You – says Bruno – do not remain the same, you cannot approach the same source twice nor can you observe the flame of a lamp that always remains identical».
He who claims to measure by identifying concordant or equal entities is wrong, because «equality occurs in that which remains»; while «that which changes is always different both from itself according to two successive instants, and from other things, according to every instant».
For the «new philosophy», nothing can ever return the same in the «wheel of time».
It is human to have doubts about the unknown and what will be.
Ennio Moricone said: «cultivate the doubts and uncertainties that are necessary because they are useful to push us to correct and redo, until we obtain the result that is believed to be the best».
We have the ambition to reach the future with the experience and knowledge of the past, the present
does not exist since in the moment in which it appears it is already past.
A few days ago I was talking with a Veteran about the future and what could happen; we said to each other: everything is a becoming intersected by unknown and unpredictable events except for macros that are represented in the theory of historical courses and recurrences. The unknown, we call it: Survival Bias; it happens when we look at the things that have survived instead of focusing on those that have not made it or that are not known.
The Greeks said ἄδηλος (adelos), the unmanifest.
So, how to face the unknown?
With heart and brain, to always be ready to face the unmanifest when it manifests itself with intelligence, agility, speed and an adequate posture. Happy reading and good reflections with the help of our Friends, to whom I am personally grateful, who have dedicated some of their time in giving us support in trying to understand and face the unknown.
